Welcome to the Utah Valley Astronomy Club or UVAC. We are a group of astronomy enthusiasts and amateur astronomers who share a common passion for the night sky. We come from all kinds of backgrounds and areas of expertise and we welcome anyone who has an interest in astronomy.
Our format is simple. You are free to attend any and all meetings without becoming a dues-paying member. If you choose to join, the membership fee is $20 per year for a family. The star parties, lectures, and presentation nights are free to attend. All that is required is interest, enthusiasm, and some common courtesies outlined on our Star Parties page.
Our Event Calendar shows the dates of our activities. We hold public and private star parties and we invite guest lecturers to give public presentations on all kinds of astronomy subjects, including topics on modern science and cosmology, good advice on astronomy gear and astrophotography, and even subjects like ancient astronomy and sky mythology. We invite all to come and participate, with or without a telescope.
We host monthly club meetings which are currently held in the Planetarium at Utah Valley University on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7 PM.
Our Facebook group is a great way to meet and converse with the local astronomy community. You will also be able to get notifications of upcoming meetings and star parties. If you are a school or organization that would like help holding a Star Party, please Contact Us and we will see what we can do.
Attendance at all meetings and star parties is free of charge. If you would like to be notified by email of upcoming events you can sign up for our email list. If you would like to support the club, please consider becoming a paid contributor.
