This is a great observing site that is fairly dark and yet not too far into the desert. It is located at the Camp Floyd Cemetery inside Camp Floyd State Park in Fairfield

From I-15 get off at exit 278 and take Pioneer Crossing.

Make no turn offs and just stay on Pioneer Crossing until it turns into Cedar Fort Rd going west. The Hwy signs change from Hwy 173 to Hwy 73.  Continue on this road for about 10 miles to reach Cedar Fort.

The road will run south for 5 miles to Fairfield. When you get to Fairfield note the turnoff to Camp Floyd but don’t get on it. Just a few hundred yards later there is a sign for the Camp Floyd Cemetery. Turn left there. Drive a short distance to the cemetery entrance, but do not turn there. Very close to the cemetery entrance you will see a large fravel parking lot on the left, the opposite side of the road from the cemetery. This is our observing area. If we have having a public star party there will likely be orange cones set up to mark off the observing area. If you have a telescope, feel free to drive past the cones are park to set up your scope. If you have come to look through the scopes but don’t have one of your own, park in the area before the cones and walk the short distance to the obeserving area.
